I mix fish =S my bleekeri is a Madagascar cichlid. Anyways, no budget right now because I simply don't have room. Few years time and a few 100 gallons more, maybe. I'm in Texas.

Cool. I am not to familiar with any places in Texas the hold different knife species (other than BGK ABK CK and BrGK) but I will do some looking and see what I can find.

This could use a bump! Love to get more input as I'm getting a larger tank soon.

125 gallon. Not sure it'll be big enough to add a knife but the research never hurts.

Depends on what kind of cichlids you get. If you get a gold severum, blood red parrot, geophagus and cichlids of that nature, a black ghost knifefish would work well with them in a 125. I wouldn't get a CK, though, with that size tank and I would not put a CK or BGK with very aggressive cichlids like the texas, red devil, etc.

How would you feel about a setup like:

1x Black Ghost Knife
1x Gold Severum (or red-streaked Severum)
1x Geophagus
1x Blood-Red Parrot
6x Clown Loaches
12x Roseline Sharks

That would fill out a 125 well I would think. The BGK can get up in the 20-24 inch range, but it takes them years to get there. A 125 can house one for a very long time.

Apart from the blood parrot I like and plan to have/already have all of those fish. However, they are all going into my wife's tank which will be 75 gallons tops... Very well thought out response though, thanks!
