No db I rescued the armatus last year actually. A guy with a 180 gallon tank here bought fish that he thought would be ok in a small glass box. When I picked him up he was thin malnourished and in terrible stinky water.he has been in ro mixed water ever since arriving here. It wouldn't except anything but feeders but with a bit of fishing skills he soon took frozen lol
Their was a guy in this post earlier saying how theirs no place for african tigers or red t cats but he's keeping two payara in a 230??? Just to let you know your vampires get bigger than some African tiger species. I hope he learns a lesson from my story. I rescued my payara vampire. I was going to sell it a while back but all the ppl who were interested wanted to keep him in a jar pretty much and he's still not fully grown? The only way I told myself if I need to sell him is to a bigger home or donate to a zoo.
I've always thought of payara to be ugly fish .photos online looking at others made me think this way. In person these fish are so gracefull and beautiful like arowana .but like anything these guys must be respected , I've almost been bitten a few times now. The fangs are 2" long
