Hey looks like I have a deal lined up to get some rock kribs in the next couple of weeks. the seller advised me to ask here on possible tankmates since he keeps them in species only tanks. Would appreciate it if someone could comment on the viability of these options:

Option 1: Put them in a 30G that is currently my Cyn Afra Cobue tank and a grow out tank for young Mbuna (mainly demasoni) If I put them in this tank, would I have to move the Afra?

Option 2: Put them in my 75G that currently has adult labs (5) Acei (6) and demasoni (14)

TIA

I am getting 6 2.5 inch juvies just starting to color up and 10 fry. so you think they will be ok in the 75 with the other mbuna?

I would worry about the fry. The demasoni are the only ones that worry me about hurting the fish. Overall, I would worry down the road about tank mates if breeding starts.

I very seriously doubt that you are getting what you think you are getting. There is no such thing as a "Rock Krib Uganda Blue neon red fin". I know that Live Fish Direct mislabels Haplochromis (Platytaeniodus) sp. "Red Tail Sheller" as the above species.

Ask for a picture before buying.
