Tank mates for rtg

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Any cichlid that will stick up for itself is a gamble mate and could end up smashing your aro and one that doesn't is a dead one thats the main problem ive found with aros and cichlids (btf im taking jardini but rtg dont mess around either)
I'd love a get a gar but they're not jardini proof untill about 15"+ even with the armour scales they still get folded in two :(
I've only ever tried one dat and it got nailed , similar problem with these big one will harass your aro and small one will either stay black and hide or get nailed (they grow to slow compared to aros to) but loads of people manage these combos so its just down to the individual fish and giving it a go mate , like me you'll either end up rehoming fish , trading them or just loosing them to the gamble :(

i've tried gars , dats , parrots , polyps , loaches , catfishes ... all work out just fine , a bit nip here and there but no big fight with fatality
but i dont like dats combine with catfish because i always had polyps , they greedy fast and suck all the food dry, leaves nothing for my polyps :(

My yellow tail Asian is fast deciding he wants no tank mates, starting to attack all the fish except the wyckii.... Mine is an adolescent now at 14+inch, from my research thats when problems will arise if they are gonna....
Can anyone say if they get over the nasty adolescent stage like a gg would or do they just stay mean forever?

If no one attack him then just let them workout on their own, once the order established it would be fine. Also, this issue occur when it's out grow other tank mates.
Some Aros won't settle until all the mid or same swimming level species are gone, some just want to show up who's the boss at certain size then it will leave other alone except at feeding time.

Yeah my last banjar red got aggressive around the 8'' mark where he started picking on his tankmates one by one. I think they mellow out when they get a few years older around 3 years.

THANKS BRO! I just can't wait till I get him. Hope he stays fine and aggression level is at a minimum
