Are Bichirs habitual ray nibblers? I was thinking about getting one, but Ashley and I wouldn't ever want to put something in the tank that could be dangerous for our little guys and gals.

You have two predators that live their life on the bottom of the tank and eat the same food. There is always a chance of the bichir biting the ray. Most stories I have heard the ray harasses the bichir. I only had one bichir bite a ray and figured that was one to many and got rid of the bichir. That combo works for some.

Is it okay to house the bichirs and the silver arowana?

Don't get anything until you get a bigger tank, maybe have a dat whilst it grows but even a 7x3 will not be big enough long term for your 2 rays unfortunately. You need 8x4 minimum.

I like larger schooling fish like Myleus sp. they are hardy and eat the scraps off stingrays
