Tank mates that won't get killed?

I recently bought a 4" Flowerhorn that is not a very good grade, just to get the feel for the fish, as far as species goes.

What have y'all kept with them that lives with harmony, or just doesn't put up with their crap?

I'm not looking for a bully, just something to keep in the tank with it.

I haven't been able to keep any tankmates with my Fh's....other than a mate.

Even with a mate, I need to put a divider in occasionally

how big is the tank? this would give us a way of maybe answering your question.

I've seen people keep large plecos in with theirs.

I have him in a 20 gal. tall right now.
I want to move him in to the 125, but I'm afraid that my Dat will eat him.

SINCE HE CAN'T STAY IN THE 20 GALLON VERY LONG, AT ALL, I may give him to a friend that has a 75 gal. that is uninhabited.

pleco is an inexpensive tank mate. actually i have 3 plecos in my three FH tanks.

not all FHs are very aggressive toward tank mates.

you can also try ornates.

I had an 10inch FH with my 8inch Oscar in my 75 for a few weeks, but then the FH died of unknown reasons. But Mine was a sissy.

He got moved to the 125 with the 10" Dat. He got bit once pretty good, but then the Dat left him alone after that. He seems to be fine.
