Well a gar will out grow a 75 easily and there are not a ton of options. I have mine with a channel cat, Lima shovelnose and a red tail payara and ornate bichir in a grow out 75, I've had this setup for around 5 months now with no problems. I will be moving the channel and gar too a 400 pond.

Plenty of compatible fish, but not for a 75. we have one with new world cichlids no issues

Pretty much anything too big for it to eat, but you'll need a larger aquarium. Try to avoid shiny, shimmering, silver fish though, gars tend to attack them although I've seen them kept with large silver arowanas and payaras fine. Also stay away from plecos as they will suck the slime coat off of the gar.

I have a Florida Gar in a 125 with a female freddy ornate and a pair of lyonsi cichlids with no issues

see about the pleco i got a question doesnt that clean the glass so you can look into it and im geting a 200 gallon tank plus soon most likely by christmas

Algae magnets/scrubbers also clean the glass, and don't have the potential to kill your gar.
