the Florida gar will very very very likely make a meal out of the mosaic gar. i would highly advise against it--

elongate, cylindrical bodied fishes are ideal for being eaten by gars and many other predatory fishes...if it had a much deeper body like a cichlid, you would be ok in terms of size, but with this particular combo it will very likely result in the smaller fish being consumed--
