I would use the 500 gallon rubbermaid and maybe add a small rtc and use another rubbermaid possibly around 200-300 gallons and use it for a sump with mech/bio set-ups. Or if you wanted to go with the tank route you could get a 8x3x3 or 9x4 and could possibly add more if you went with the 9x4. Make sure you have lots of filtration, your gonna need it.
