Tank really hot when I got home need help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree with Rob, some comments are just plain asinine. Like requiring a dozen clown loaches, or that they get a foot long. Not all clown loaches in captivity max out in the 12 inch range, even after 15+ years of growth, nor do they require being kept in such large groups.

And who cares what someone paid, it's not your/my/our $$$$.

I just wanna pop in for a moment and say that Camaro is starting to give honest answers in an effort to get help, take it easy on him y'all. He's more or less done what we've asked.

Camaro, you said you have an API master test kit. Give us the results from that, please. Strips are notoriously inaccurate.

LOL Just joshin' on the kid a bit... I'll play nice from here on out C Chicxulub and RD. RD.

Anyway, The camaro show The camaro show listen close, dude. Give us the following information:
1. Readings, or better yet, a clear photo of your API master test results. "My readings are perfect" just doesn't cut it.
2. Also, may we have a full equipment list? Like how many watts your heater is, etc.
3. If you are unable to provide that info, and everything is ok and the knife is "90% better", then please consider reducing your stock by returning some of the fish to your fish store as recommended by the others on here.
4. Before you buy a new fish, you really have to do your research. Old folks like us didn't have the internet back in the day, and we made mistakes all the time - often resulting in disaster. Now you have this forum and google. It's almost inexcusable to make the mistakes we did back in the day because we didn't know any better. If you did your homework, your stock list would be WAAAAY less than this. Whether you want to hear it or not, YOU ARE OVERSTOCKED.
5. And just a brotip... You're lucky that your dad is a doctor and he can afford to buy you all this stuff, but honestly, a little humility goes a long way and makes people WANT to help you more.

Peace!

Suggested stock:
uaru
2 red head geos
4 rainbow fish - increase to 8
2 bristlenose plecos
2 keyholes

Build from there.

Very good advice given here. You're blessed to have a setup like that with a sump and extremely nice finish but please listen to the guys here. I recall you saying the guy at the shop claimed everything can go in fine and he's an expert, but unless the shopkeeper knows you really know your stuff they will try and sell you as much as possible, at the end of the day they need to make money and that's how they need to roll unfortunately.

You are super lucky here!

Brotip from me, when you have to work hard to afford all your kit and everything you tend to go cheap and find affordable ways to make things work instead of relying on expensive equipment that isn't always necessary, I also take time to research purchases because my implulse buys left me with a sore heart and wallet lol. You have to figure out your tanks mojo before going to all the chemicals and kit. Not saying that you are just a tip :)

If you give the details the people here would be more than willing to help you, one pricey but worthwhile thing is test kits believe me :)

The camaro show The camaro show did you read either of the above posts? People have been asking for your liquid test kit readings for the last 50 or so posts and you keep ignoring them, whether it's accidentally or intentionally I do not know. What I do know is these guys all want to help you but you have to help them to do so. If you post the info FishBeast FishBeast asked for then people can help you to the best possible outcome.

I assume you're young (despite your profile saying you're 51) and if so the best thing you can do for yourself is listen to the people with more experience. After all, aren't we all here to learn?

One thing you will learn while "living the dream" is that money can't buy experience.

What do you mean you obviously are not going to put African cichlids in there or red tail catfish
You've lost me here, where did anyone mention a RTC?

Was related to people mentioning research

When we get proper liquid test readings we will know for sure, but i am leaning towards that sump not being enough. Look at the water clarity, its yellow. The sump only has a filter pad and bio balls for that stock. I have less fish in a 180 and way more filtration.
