I also taped all my seams, so when I ran the silicone any exrta went on the tape. As soon as I finished sealing the tank I removed the tape and had perfect straight edges. Don't be in a hurry to do it, take your time. Scrape the old silicone with a razor blade. I used a paint scraper only took a minute or 2 to do it. Then use the blade and when are done, do it again and again. Then wipe with alcohol. BE SURE TO FEEL FOR OLD RESIDUE. Good Luck. I did a 108 you can check the thread How to seal a tank?
