From what I've seen with dovii, 30 of them in in a 20 would probably be so many fish that they wouldn't know who to be aggressive towards. If you were to put a smaller number in a larger tank, they would be able to establish little mini-territories and aggression would get worse.

i like the pea gravel , very organic. Ive made plans to pick some up this weekend, roughly 90kg is needed to fill my 6x2x2 dovii tank. should go well with minimal drift wood and a collection of dark rocks..
both my tanks have pea gravel.
i'd rather have a more natural look,
people tell me about how bad sand is soo i never went for that look
soo i went as natural as possible.
i don't want like blue gravel with like green plants coming out lol.

exactly 30 fish in a 20 will leave no one a chance to get a good pounding on another fish because there will always be someone to intervene. In the 77 or 120 it will be to much space & when they hit like 5" they'll start to pick each other off. 5 or 6 will be able to hold & defend territories while figureing who they'd like as a mate. I wonder how long those 30 babies lived in that 20.

Ive had 10s of thousands of Dovii in my life.
These are F3's by my books.
My dominant male from my F1 male is the father.
I know these fish inside outside upside down and backwards.
They'll be fine.

i only have 4 now, and i'm sure they will turn out fine.
