Having no center brace is still sketchy for 180 gallon tank even after testing it filled for 2 week. I'd try doing what tcarswell did and add DIY center brace. Better to be safe then sorry.

Yeah i want to add one... just trying to figure out the best way to do it.

Since I am missing that center piece. What should I do about lighting? Any ideas??

not if its an older tank. older tanks didn't need them (made with thicker glass)

they were better than todays thin glass tanks IMO.

Im pretty sure mine is an older tank. The glass is thick. But its 72 in across... What should I do about lighting

I use 2 -36" twin tube florescents in my 72" tank. but you will need to get a glass top made.
