Now that he is no longer drags himself all over the bottom, would you add substrate like sand?

Yes I definitely plan to add sand. I'm moving soon so I might wait until the move. I've discovered that emptying a tank of 75 lb of wet sand is just not a fun way to spend my time. ;)

I'm also in the process of installing a 3D background so I'll work on that first (and painting the bottom). It should make the tank a lot prettier.

Lucky fish.

I'm still waiting to find a time to go cut the background, but...

I thought I'd share the good news. My convict is 100% recovered. He's swimming perfectly and hasn't touched the bottom of the tank in about a week. I'm so proud and happy! He's even returned to his old meanie personality, attacking both his reflection and me through the glass. I couldn't be happier. :)

CONGRATS Natalie!!!!! That is so awesome! I finally took the dive into CA's. Who knows, I may even end up picking up a few cons as dithers in the big tank.

That's great news Natalie, I know you been taking great care of this little guy and it has paid off. You would think he would be more grateful and not attack you through the glass though.
