Yay Area
So I have stocked my 10 gallon now with some black sand, live plants, 6 neons and 3 golden wonders. I currently have the filter running and everything but I was wondering about all this other stuff like Powerheads and Air pumps...do I need any of these? Will it be benifiecery? My Golden Wonders stay at the top of the tank for about 90% of the day, would they like/dislike the current from the powerhead? Thanks in advance...

you don't need a power head or an air pump if your filter is half, no, quarter decent. i don't know what a golden wonder is, so i can't help you there. sorry.

You will be fine with what you have. What type of live plants do you have?

I'll move this to the setup and filtration section for ya.

Yo, WyldFya! You need to move this thread back to General Discussion, the Setup/Filtration forum is horrible, no one replies. Thats why I originally posted in General Aquarium!!!

lol, what model is your filter?

thats plenty of water movement for your tank, its a 10 gallon and a powerhead would stress your neons i have a simmerler setup on my 10gallon with 12 neons, 6 guppies and 3 agazzizzies corry cats and one firebelly newt. thats too much fish yes i know but it works for me. no air pumps and no powerheads.

If you notce your fish actuly gasping for air at the top of the water, lower the water line a bit to let the cascade of the filter airate the water a bit.

Some fish prefer the upper section of a tank, It doesnt mean that they need air.

good luck man.
