cool, do you know if italian vals need alot of lite cuz I just have standard lighting on my tank.

I don't think they do. I have some very healthy ones in a 5 foot tank with only a 4 foot light, albeit the light is a double bulb light. I also fertilize a couple times a month.

If you have just a single bulb you might want to add a second bulb. Or maybe just try fertilizing first and then if you don't see any growth then go to a second bulb light...

VERY nice plants fanatic! they are monsters! ive been contemplating adding some plants to my african tank..

That particular plant was the only reason I wouldn't tear down my 55 planted tank. I'd had it for close to 8 years. But one of my buddies with a high tech 125 said he wanted to add some swords to his tank and I asked if he wanted the monster. HE said yeah, so I decided to gut the tank. I added 1 of the Swords in the 55 to my 110 to give me a total of 4 in there with my Africans. I gave two to my buddy and two more are going to MDSKLZ who has posted here a couple of times. The rest of the Crypts in my 55 will go in the 110 too.

So far I've had no problems with the AC's munching them. If anything the algae that grows in the leaves gives them something to munch on...They also cut down sight lines and reduce aggression IMO.

Here is a pick of the monster in my 55 before I gutted it. Fills the entire left side of the tank....

:eek:awesome setup!!!

Okay I mad some changes to the tank. I added more bricks and got rid of the big rocks. I also moved the structure forward so there would be more room in the back for the valls and fish. What do you guys think, better or worse?

put in some plants and it should look good. I would still put one of two of those rocks that were in there in front of the wall just to break it up a little....

Paint the back black!
