Tank shattered. Don't suppose anyone can give me one?

^ Very well put.

I would tell your friend he needs to cover a new tank and fast. No money? No problem, what has he got to sell? Can his parents loan him the money? If he does not cover your loss, I would tell him to not bother coming to my house anymore.

That's right,accept no excuses.

Yeah lol dude. You have 2 ps3s? And you're begging people for a tank? :swear:

Lol, that's a tad harsh for an accident. If I broke it and my friend told me that I'd be pretty bummed because I slipped. :(

I agree on selling some electronics though...

In this case it should'nt really come to that because although it was an accident, his actions destroyed someones property and he should have offered some kind of reimbursement or help with the situation that the OP is now in.

Yeah no excuses sounds like that dude is big and healthy/ time to get a job and pay for the damaged tank. What do you mean he will never have any money? Fast food resturaunts are always hiring.

Accidents happen. He should try and help to cover the cost, it might be 6 months from now but if he is a true friend they will help. I couldn't just give you 200 bucks for a new tank right now. IDC if you wanted it or not, I have bills. It would get payed though. It is kind a wierd that you just want a free tank right now. You have 3 computers, I doubt their old too you wouldn't have been worried if they were some 1995 classics. Selling some of this can easily buy you a 80 gallon tank, easily bigger too. ATM I would sell some electronics since you know he won't be getting a tank for you, but all in all he needs to try and help pay for it sometime.

Pics of the broken tank and stand. IMO if someone was able to move and break an 80g tank by falling into it, then the stand was of poor design and build. You are lucky that you aren't being held liable for some medical bills.

My friend will never have money because 1. He doesn't live with his parents, he lives with a friend. 2. He has an intestinal disease that makes him unable to work. He has been my best friend for years and I won't make him pay for an accident. He is sorry and that is enough for me.

The stand was built very well. It's just that he hit the tank with all his weight on the side of it and when he tried to use the tank to catch himself it tipped. It amazed me and still puzzles me but that's what he says happened. And we live in Canada. Health care is free. Don't need to cover medical expenses. Plus it was his fault and no judge would make me pay for anything.

ALSO lol I cannot sell any of my stuff because most of it was gifts and my dad would never let me sell a gift. Otherwise I would have years ago to buy a 180 gallon or something. And I wasn't entirely seriously about begging for a tank lol. That is a big thing to ask for from strangers. It would have been awesome, but I never expected anyone to actually give me one.

sorry to hear.

but I agree with the above. if someone tipped over an 800 pound tank by falling into it and pulling themselves up it was going to come down sooner or later without question. at least no one got hurt.

was the stand 'wobbly'? perhaps even though it was well built to handle the weight it might have been tippy, in which case it certainly could come down like he said it did.
