Tank size for these monsters?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
2 flowerhorns and a midas? I'd split those fish up,youmight get away with 2 125's ,but an 8 ft. tank might work for all combined - good luck

Yeah, I've heard stories of Midas' taking over extremely large tanks... the last thing I want to do is acquire a monster tank and then one of my monster fish takes over the entire thing.

thats what happened to me , i have 1 red devil in my 180 with maybe some fry , my male went batso and decided to try to murder my female , when the fry hatched, when there egg sacks were on i could find them but now i dont know if they are there or not, so i have 1 12" fish in a 180 gallon, not exactly my plan ,

so good luck with midas, and flowerhorns ,if i were you i would pick less fish. out the oscars and the jds

Even in a 8' tank I just dont see your Oscars hanging with those guys long term, sadly they would the first out... Next up would be the jack. Get seperate tanks!

Yeah, the Midas and the 2 Flowerhorns are no joke. The Midas especially... he wants a piece of anyone and anything that is within 10 feet of his tank.

I know get a 600 gallon 10x4 tank :-) Thats what I got and its huge!

1000+ gallons if you want all those together.

But with some imagination, respect for the territorial needs and creative aqua-scaping you could go smaller.

Have fun
