Tank size for these potential pairs?

Boucourti & pearsei both get too large for a 125 IMO. Also with a pair of cichlids already in a 125, I would be looking at smaller fish that the pair would not view as a threat - tetras, barbs, livebearers or catfish.

Okay. 180 minimum it is.

As far as the rivulatus go, I'm trying to find either a single large cichlid tankmate or a group of cichlid tankmates the pair can team up against that won't put anyone at too much risk of being injured. Otherwise I will just use the 75 gallon for them and have a divider handy just in case and turn the 125 into a Guianacara tank.

So I have done a lot of editing to my wish list due to the tank sizes I want to have and the fish that can fit in those tanks. I still want a wet pet, but so many of my ideas have been shot down (mostly due to tank sizes not giving the intended species much room to move) and I have decided to steer clear of most fish that get larger than 10" to be on the safe side. Now I think I am going to look into an Astronotus 'Bahia' or an Astronotus crassipinnis for my 75.

Anyways, here is the new list. Please don't mind the little notes I've jotted below each species. They are just to help me keep tank size and setup in mind. Let me know if I have anything wrong or if I need to adjust my thinking on tank size. Also, I know it was mentioned that some of the Aequidens species might need a 75+ And I have them listed as 55+, but they will get a 75 if they need it. :)

Aequidens michaeli 4-6"

Andinoacara latifrons 4-6"

I am looking to find out if anything on my list could coexist with a group of 6-8 Guianacara in a 125 (a pair or singles).

I would also love opinions on what of the list might be most desirable in the hobby to breed and sell. Since not everything on my list is there to be bred, it might be nice to setup a few small communities.

Sevs would work with the gianacara in the 125.

In regards to selling, I'm not sure about your local LFS but mine stick to the more common colorful cichlids. Out of your list, I think you'll have the best luck selling salvini or the Rotkeils to LFS (if they will buy from you, mine only buy from Segrest). If you decide to ship, I think you'll be able to move some Aequidens & Cryptoheros. However, don't expect to move many & plan to cull entire spawns. Ask Ryan about his difficulty in selling his heroina fry - I think at one point he offered some for free(you pay shipping) & had no takers. If you want to make a serious effort to sell, you'll need to do alot of advertising - posts on numerous forum marketplaces, Aquabid, Ebay & Craigs List. I feel like nowadays the only fry you can move are from some rarely imported fish. Africans & Flowerhorns move well too b/c they seem to draw in the casual hobbyist.

I also currently have a m/f of Andinoacara rivulatus 'white saum' and a couple small Aequidens sp. 'Jenaro Herrera' that I am hoping are a m/f. The rivulatus have had to be divided because the male beat up the female on day two of having them, but I am hoping to reintroduce her by taking out the divider and have them pair up, but I'm not seeing any signs of breeding interest through the acrylic divider.

Out of curiosity, are white saums a color morph due to line breeding or is the white simply a recessive trait?

I will have to check out the LFSs after I move to see what their policies are on buying or giving store credit for fish. Selling to LFSs would help me offload faster with less hassle, but I wouldn't mind getting into shipping by selling here and on Aquabid. I will just have to make sure I don't overload myself with too many breeding pairs. And I won't raise every batch. Some of them will be left to the food chain. That will be the benefit of having small piscivores like salvini.
