I have 2 albino polypterus in a 10 gallon tank I'm growing to eventually put in my tank with the others. I'm wondering if since many fish will grow to the tank size, will being in a smaller tank slow down the rate much or stop it completely or will they grow large enough to go into a predator tank in time?

i'd make sure the water parameters are excellent and water is pristine! be sure to feed them a lot of course :)

They'll grow at the same rate, though they may not be able to become as muscular in that size tank. I grow mine up from 10s as well, 10 to 20, then to 29, then to 55. It works well; my polli went from the 10 to the 55 in 3 months... What size are your Sens?

i bought a senegal that whent from 4 inchs to six in about a mounth and a half in a 20 grow out

i grew my senegals out in a 10 gal, still grew really quick, i moved them to a bigger tank after the 5'' mark which didnt take too long

i still have mine in a ten, only about 3-4 inches, i have had him for about a year now.
how often and what do you feed yours?

it's a senegal BTW

i feed mine like every day and he gets choped fish live fish and sometimes bloodworms if my cats dont eat them all lol

thanks! I wanted to be sure in a 10 gal I wouldn't stunt their growth or anything, to go into my main tank they'd have to be at least 5" or so, the're 3-4 now. i've got a clown knife and a tiger shovel nose I wouldn't turn my back on if I was 4 inches
