those arent 24", look at the hands on the body of the fish, they are maybe 20-21" max u get a pic of a dovii with a tape measure saying its 24" then ill beleive you, this is just like the 20" managuenese myths..

Then Ad Konings, Paul Loiselle, and all the other collectors, scientists, and ichthyologists are wrong and you're right.

By the way, my hands are over 9" from tip to tip, and it looks like that guys hands are three or four times smaller than his fish....... He must have some tiny hands!

Sorry!

Its still way too big for a 4 foot tank, even if it only got to 18 inches.

In the wild they can get to 24 inches. I have never seen one larger than 20 inches in captivity. Still, not a good choice on JD tankmates in that small of a tank.

I have seen a jag that was bigger than 20 inches in person. I actually thought it was a Dovii that had some strange coloration because it was just too big.

It was in a 4000 gallon tank. Even the ones at Cabela's weren't that big.

I wouldn't doubt Doviis can get 2 feet. I just think that in the awuariums they are housed in it would take a looong time.

I think the jag that was over 20 inches was almost 18 years old. So I mean it could be possible, because I have heard that fish never actually stop growing they just slow down a lot.

thanks everyone the 110 gallon was just going to be a temporary solution until i got a 200+ tank but i will take into consideration everything everyone said...thanks again!
