Everything I have read says oscars are nearly impossible to sex
I have an oscar in a 75g with a pleco.After he got to 8" he killed or tried to kill everyhing else in the tank.I change 50% water 1-2 times a week and nitrates can still run high.magnum 350 with pro biowheels and an ugf with 2 350gph powerheads and whisper 100(newstyle) air pump running it.

Your chances of a JD and an oscar getting along in a 6 foot tank would greatly improve. If you can, you should always get the bigger tank.

Thanks, but one more thing, what about having a 8 inch pleco in a 125 Gallon with an O? Would I need more room?

Depends on what type of pleco. But generally speaking, I'd say it would be okay. I'm not much of a fan of plecos, so I personally would rather get something else, but that's just MY opinion.

Go for the 125 Gallon you have much more potential!! Oscars get very large and Fat and need lots of Room.... Get some Convicts or one or two smaller Cichlids to go with the Oscar if you Get a 125.. In the 75 you are pretty limited..

I've never owned a Jag but from what I know of them they are pretty mean and aggressive... Nice looking though... Did you decide which size Tank you will go for? That will really help with deciding what can go in it...
