i have been watching this sub forum for awhile..most people will just judge the "noob" of the forum harsh without actually knowing whats the deal and look at themselves..i feel sorry for the noob for taking flames for things they have not done.
no arowana can have big PRIVATE tank ( if you put an aro in the tank, you are just as guilty as the person you blaming) or if you proud of your 700 plus gallon tank and will think anything smaller is pity and they dont deserve to own an arowana..guess what your 700G still too small for an arowana. that grown up aro will use all the space you give regardless if its 240 or 1000 gallon. heck even juvy aro would already use all the space.
i think we all need to work on the small size or the minimum number of size that able to house at least one without cramping the space, what the point of having 1000 gallon tank with 10 grown aro?
lets say when someone has an asian or jardini and have 6"x2"x2" i would say its just alright to have that fish in there for life..granted the bigger is the better but its not the point.
i would think the fish will be just alright and do just fine..think of it as grown man in a jail cell for life LOL.

should i have my flame suit on?!!

Sounds like a rant from someone who can't provide a reasonable sized tank for their arowana.

There is already many threads including stickys that have recommendations for minimum sized tanks for arowana.

your post sounds coming from undersize tank yourself, with how many aro and other fish you have there?
but really, i do not see my tank under size my aro is about 6 inches, would be fine still even if i put it in 20G breeder tank. if you do math..my jardini has more real estate than your 450G(?) if im not mistaken.
and it is a rant to those people being treated when they asked legit question, i was once noob in this forum and you prolly still see me as noob, but who give a damn..but what i can prove is they all knows as much as the noob of not worse. and my investigation as far as what they have tank/fish wise or post have no better experience than the flamed noob.

Aros grow very very fast and any new owner should have done enough research to know this before going out and buying one

It's all very well buying a aro for a 75 gal and saying they will up grade when needed but what they fail to understand is how fast they will need that bigger tank

By going 75 125 200 350 700 and so on it will cost you much more money in the long run that if you just set up the big tank before going out and buying

It's also better to mix a young aro with as many different types of fish as its growing to stop to much aggression as a adult something that's not poss in a 75 or 125

Many many people who say they will upgrade never do and they soon find out they have bitten off more than they can chew with a fish growing at 1-1.5 inch per month

As for this every tank is to small rubbish if you feel that way then you are against all forms of fish keeping so why are you on the forum as even a neon in a 5ft is restricted to some extent

i felt sorry the noob to be joining the forum here facing hostile responds..but point is not the issue putting 3 inch aro in 125G or less (because it is not at the time), im sure most LFS warned them about the fish they buying, hey atleast my LFS everywhere where i live, also when they want an aro there is huge chance they have seen the sheer size of grown up one..thats why they interested. do you really have to treat people as stupid or retard as yourself..or is it a revenge how they were being treated and feel the obligation to pass it on..
not alot of people as retard as you might think or you would like to treat them..for instance if they cant afford the "minimum" im sure they will find a way to donate it or sell it back to the LFS for cheap to save the fish or start over with small to accommodate what they can afford. the point is dont jump the gun :D

I know sorry I wanted to just jump in at first but wanted to add to it. No I agree with you, I have a friend that wanted to give me two arows about 20-26inches and I told him I would rather not have them, They are in a 600 like mine, They are just not a fish for me and sure they look great small but are a fish that gets big I myself dont like to think of fish out growing even my tank and plan accordingly, I do think it is fine for people to get them and put them in a smaller tank, just get the biggest you can. And they are not all 30inch monsters at the start of life. They do bend a good amount and I would say one can fit in a smaller tank then lets say a Redtail catfish. Im working on stock its got more in it now just no new pics :-)

beautiful tank but where is the aro in question, keep in mind you are in aro forum :P

as long as the fish can maneuver no problem its all good, some people not as lucky as you are or me LOL
and you did the right thing but 2 grown aros in 600 tank i would see it as "its all good" to live there their life.
