tank stock and fish set-up

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i think you made a mistake getting the pacu due to your situation. how long will it take to get 500g or larger? if you dont think you can get a larger tank get rid off the pacu because as it grows it will stress out.

i say you just keep the oscar and get another sa/ca cichlid and get rid of the pacu it will be good for u and the fish

i am getting a bigger tank. i am saving for a 200+ tank as we speak.

i just put a post up i think i will seel the pacu and like what beginneralex14 said they grow to fast and need more care then what i can give him right now

looking at what you want to have and what you do have. depending on the aggression level of your oscar, an arrowana wouldn't be out of the question or the lima. and just a suggestion but look at 220gal tanks not 200's it's generally a more standard size from my experiance and should be about the same price as the 200. and you can re-use the 55 as a sump for the 200ish to help cut filtration costs if you don't intend to fill it with other fish of course ;) also some great info on the DIY section. so you can plan accordingly for your "monster" tank in the future.

and  on the choice to give up the pacu. wise decision imo. I hate that petco and petsmart sell these fish regularly to people with such tiny tanks, with no warning to their adult sizes as a general rule. and few fishtank owners, id on't think I'de call them hobbiests. don't bother to look them up or do their research like you did.

well done, well done.

thanks i was looking around and i can get a pretty good deal on a tank on MFK but i will look for a 220+gal tank. thanks for the heads up on the tank stuff and yea i hate how i go to a friends house and they have 2 oscars, a balla shark, and a pleco in a 20g tank. thanks for the info again
