not 100% accurate, but it does give a pretty good idea of the amount of water some people here work with. but with that poll it only states how much water, not tank sizes. if someone has 500 1g tanks in a room, then they have 500 gallons according to that poll lol

180 for some people here is a lot, to others is just right, and to some is nothing. from an over-all view of this site, its not too much at all, but if you feel like its massive then feel free to feel that way. "big", "small", and "just right" are all opinions :D

In that case I got over 300 gallons! :naughty:

if you are getting a tank bigger than 120, you can get a couple of ornate bichirs. If your tank is 180 gals you can possiblilly get a jardini arowana.

don't get a jardini if you value your oscars lives

Depends on the Jardini, some are okay.

still it's pretty safe to say it's 50/50 at best and they can just snap at any time, not worth the risk IMO

im considering buying a jardini for my 200 when my silver gets moved up. im planning on getting him small (2-4") and raising it on pellets only in a smaller tank. hopefully by the time its big enough to move into the 200 itll be pretty mellow and wont hurt anything. and if it does then itll be going right into the pond/tank with the larger silver and a rtc and tsn lol

Charles, the prob with Jardini aros isn't aggression based on feeding, it's to due with territoriality. Feeding it on pellets won't stop it mauling other aros in the future. For example, I have a pair of Green aros. The big female was continuously after the smaller male, so I decided to add a Jardini just a bit bigger than the male to break up some of the aggression. The two greens, both fed their entire lives on pellets, tolerated him for one day before mauling him.

im not the expert on jardinis. never even seen one in person before lol. im just hoping and praying that ill get a friendly one and if not, ill sell it and use to money to buy another in hopes of getting a nicer one. and if that doesnt work then ill have to give up on jardinis for awhile. do you know of any way to raise them to cause them to be less aggressive as adults?
