Tank temp

I almost know its not the lights I have one 4' dual T8 lamp about 2.5 feet above the tank, I ran two of these lights about 16 inches above a 55 gallon.

Can you explain a water channel? Could I setup some type of radiator system like they use to cool your car or water cool a computer?

I know it was to good to be true a pump with the GPH I need for only 200 bucks.

Do you think if its the pump it would help if I took the pump out of the sump and ran it inline?

Had another ghetto Idea I can take a 5 gallon bucket wrap about 20 feet of hose around the inside, and fill this inside with ice and then pump water slow through the tubs.

I searched your pump and it looks like it's putting 4200 gph and 520 watts. Pond pumps aren't very energy effecient and most comparable pumps would only use 300watts or so, so the extra 200 or so might be converted into heat output. Also being a submersible pump means that it isn't air-fan cooled, instead it relies on water cooling. Seeing as your other tanks are fine I would imagine it's the pump. Either way I would buy a new pump as the money saved on energy will pay for the pump.

I think you are right about the pump, still today when I got home it was 90F with only one heater. I unplugged the last heater and put the biggest fan I have pulling air in from the outside and over the sumps. I guess if I can just figure this out maybe in the winter I will save money on heating lol.

Swiched thermometer and the and the new one shows 86, I dropped theold one in another tank that was showing 82 and it now shows 86 also. plugged one heater backup and left the fan run. Will see how things go tonight, Got a firemouth cichild for my empty 55, any suggestions what else I should put with him?
