There was a point (when a pump failed) that I ran like 2x turnover until I got the pump situation figured out, I saw no difference in the rays behavior or appetite, only the tank water was dirtier. I used to run 4-5 times before that, rays were happy and bred for me. Now I run 7-8, same thing, but my water stays a lot cleaner (and filter pads need changing more often).

There is about 550 gallons in the tank
Laguna max flo 2400. X2. Thats 4800 gph .....i believe they are 84 watts each ......so 168 total watts
Fluval fx5.....900 gph.....50 watts
Thats about 5700 gph with 218 watts
Im prob getting x9 turnover rate with head loss but i listed x10 bc that what the filter/pumps were rated for
