Here are some shots from tonight. I need to clean the glass so I apologize that. Tank is 10' x4' x 30" deep. With sumps and filters included it's a little over 1000 gallons. I also have a tarpon, a female black diamond ray and a tigrinus catfish growing out in the sumps and will be added when they are big enough. I am also adding another black diamond ray tomorrow.

(1) motoro- female

growout/sumps: the system has (2) separate sumps which are both 125 gallons each.
(1) tigrinus catfish
(1) tarpon
(1) black diamond ray- female

i am adding another black diamond male ray today.

An interesting note, when I had my pair of monos in a 150 gallon with the azul and a big Brokopondo and a silver arawana, they would spawn every month like clock work. Since I have put them in the big tank they show the same courtship behaviors they would do right before spawning but they haven't spawned yet and it's been over a year in the tank. My theory is that there is too much activity going on in there now. What do you guys think?

The manufacturer of the filters is "Xtreme Biofilters". I don't have the model of each filter off the top of my head. They are full of media. They are more or less pool filters. There each have separate independent pumps which pump the water through their system. The UV is simply hard plumbed onto the same system that the smaller filter (which filters the overflows) is ran on. Like I mentioned before there are also two separate 125 gallon sumps that are daisy chained together. I forget he exact number but it filters somewhere close to 12,000 gallons an hour or so.

As as far as water changes, I have hard plumbed some PVC out to my garage where I have a quick disconnect. I have pool back wash hose on a piece of PVC that hooks up to the quick disconnect and runit out to the grass. It hen go and flip a switch and kill the power to the pumps, pick which filter I want to back wash first, open a valve and turn the power back on and the water gets pumped out into the lawn. I can empty my 50-60% (300-400 gallons)of the water for the water change in about 5 minutes. When I have emptied out however much I want to, I simply kill the power again and flip the valve and it's done. I then run a small hose which is hooked up to my sink and fill the tank (to fill it takes about 45 minutes). Since the sink is hooked up to the water heater I am able to keep constant water temperature. It is really simple and idiot proof. Out of the tons of tanks I've owned, this is by far the simplest one I have ever had maintenance wise.

This picture will give you a better idea of how it's all put together. image.jpg
