Totally agree. Filtration shows good results of high bio load and good growth. Also very well fed.
 
Welcome to having a show tank stocked full of fish vs a breeding tank. You are 100 percent correct that you have to much stock for the fish to be comfortable to breed. That's just the life of what you want to have though. You either have a breeding tank with less fish or a show tank packed full of fish. If just does not work to have both all in one. Breeder need space and less distraction and worry.


An interesting note, when I had my pair of monos in a 150 gallon with the azul and a big Brokopondo and a silver arawana, they would spawn every month like clock work. Since I have put them in the big tank they show the same courtship behaviors they would do right before spawning but they haven't spawned yet and it's been over a year in the tank. My theory is that there is too much activity going on in there now. What do you guys think?
