love that del! His contrast is great. My del is also my most active, with my endlicheri a close second, but he's still pretty young so I expect that to change.
Looks to me like the del is a male and the ornate is female, but I'm no expert. I recently have been trying to sex my own so I've been looking at a lot of pics of poly private parts haha

yea my endlicheri just lays on the bottom of the tank all day i almost rarely see him swim

Do it! I love my dels. Well I love all my poly but my one del is the most rewarding of the bunch by far
they're also one of the best looking of the polypterus species, IMO
I agree on Del looks - they are so contrasty... Mine is still a bit shy, though. Hopefully he'll come around. He was beat up a lot by another poly that was rehomed. He's only a few weeks in and I have too many hiding spots. I am slowly taking them out but I just can't do a bare tank - need my plants.
