Tank Update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They definitely have it figured out, but cichlids are known for snapping fast. One day it gets along, the next your tank looks like a petco tank (everything dead).
The jags that I have, I find the female the more dominant one. Sometimes when they are face (snakehead) to face and she flares up and even the snakehead runs off.

I would separate them too and get a bigger tank for the jag pair. Not so sure about the snakehead because have no experience on keeping them, so not going to give advise on it. But I do know like cichlids, some species get more aggressive than others and some get bigger.

The weaponry on a snakehead could do more damage compared to a jag. Opinions?

So just wanted to share few pics of the tank.View attachment 1454349View attachment 1454350
Here are my two jags (they’re a pair) and there’s a snakehead in there too, it’s a Channa Quinquefasciata aka Channa Five Stripes. Here’s a picture of that guyView attachment 1454353
They’re all happy. They have their territories decided. They chase each other once in a while but apart from that everyone’s pretty sorted I feel.
What do y’all think about the set up? Any suggestions/changes I should make?
Also, I know the tank isn’t enough for them (75g) I’m saving up for a bigger tank though. Thanks.
Awesome tank, like the others said, I’d move the SH, that’s too cool a fish to risk losing

Easily. Jags have teeth, but they are like guppies next to the multiple rows of daggers in a snake.
