Tanked

yeah, i think some people are a little hard on those guys as far as the stocking issues and how healthy the environments are. i'm sure they know what they're doing as far as making sure the fish will thrive in the tanks they build (they wouldn't have lasted this long as a business and gotten a reality show out of it if not). my only complaint about the show is that they don't spend much time talking about the actual fish and the specifics of the setups. but i guess that would be targeting a pretty specific demographic (like us) and any network is going to try to appeal to as large of an audience as possible. the average person that watches that show doesn't want to hear about breeds of fish, ph, canisters, wet/dry systems, power heads, skimmers, etc.

IMO, if they knew what they were doing with stocking from a permanent standpoint, then they would put some of these fishes in those aquariums. I'm pretty certain that every aquarium that gets shown on the show gets maintained by them or some other company, though, so I think that they stock some of the fishes with the intention of selling them again later.

That spade aquarium was way overstocked and improperly filtered, so the tattoo guy has to have some sort of maintenance agreement with them/someone else since the aquarium will crash pretty soon without tons of maintenance on a regular basis.

I don't think the spade tank was over stocked with all the live rock in the tank and a good filter. it will be good. The live rock will consume alot of the waste in the tank

The live rock dose most of the filtering in a salt water tank. You could look at the tank as a tank full of bioballs so really the whole tank is a filter.

did anyone see the one show where the guy proposed to his gf with the stingray tank that popped up out of the floor? they had it stocked with blue spotteds and a few guitar fish. i think there was some other ray species in it too.
