I want to add another fish to my 75 gallon with my JD and Uropthalmus, but the Uro is such a jerk that I need a fish that will hold it's own.

Any ideas?

convict?

how about trying a nice pike cichlid?

I had the smae problem ended up selling my uro love those cichlids but they can be pretty relentless in there bullying i wouldn't add any other cichlids in a tank that size i don't think theres any cichlid that would just hold up another large cichlid would either get beaten up or turn the tables on the uro you could try a convict if theres plenty of hideing spots it will most likely get beaten up but there fast and cheap so its worth a try i'd say

no more fish, iwas going to suggest getting another false fish but your already pushing it with your stock in a 75

ya, i kinda missed the tank size. it may just be that you can only have the uro in there. if you maintain it well enough, you may be able to get away w/ another cich, but not likely

If you really must, try something like a salvini as long as the filtration is good, but considering the circumstances, you're better off leaving the tank as is, and enjoy your current fish

Crap, I kinda figured the tank was too small to put another cichlid in it.

This Uro has beaten up my Salvini, my male convict, and shredded my Nic. I had to set up another tank just because of this Uro. The only fish he left alone was the 4" JD, but now he even has that beat into a corner. The divider went in today, so the JD can move without being chased down.

Maybe I need to get rid of the Uro altogether and get the JD a new tank mate.
