Props to MFK first of all...I luv this site. Second...I have a 6" RBP "Tiny" well he lives alone in a 55g and I recently decided to get him one more monster fish tankmate. I know you are wondering if he can coexist w/another fish but Tiny is a big 'ol teddybear. I left him for three days and he didn't even eat his Serpae Tetras I left him with, they've been in his tank now for about 1 month.

Tiny shows absolutely no aggression towards the tetras so I assume it would be safe to introduce one more fish. I can purchase pretty much any fish through a wholesaler so I am asking MFK members to help me decide on a really cool monsterfish to bunk w/ Tiny. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. THANKS MFK!

Ideas: Polypts., Senegalus, Gar, Archer, Scat, Shovelnose, Stingray, or Jardini

PS. Are there any such fish as freshwater Lionfish or Lizard fish and does anyone have a pic link???

:screwy:

i think u should get a poly. the other fish u listed are either brackish or get too big.

there are freshwater Lionfish or Lizard fish. google 'em, theyll be tonnes of info. Think rayman has a freshwater lionfish type

None of those listed will work. I dont care how big of a "teddy" tiny is, but I can assure none of the fish you listed will work permenatly. The only three fish I can suggest are: doradids like stripped ralph cats, large plecos, or small cheap fast fish that you would not mind losing.

But then again I have a limited experience with piranhas. Only kept every single pygo species and 4 serra species.....

I agree eventually any fish you put in there will get eaten, piranha really are a single species tank fish.

So long as you keep all the fish well fed, and monitor water qualities, you should be able to keep some tetras with his, or possible some other fish. But again this relies heavily on him being well fed at all times, preferably on pellet or frozen.

P's are wild fish but when you put tiny fish in with them, they don't bother to chase it around when he knows that he will be fed eventually. I have a community of 5 eight inch RBPs and nothing I put in their tank live or dead last a minute. Any fish that you put in with them will eventually be dinner.

I have quite a few fish in with my RB's... thing is, I don't expect any of them to make it. They are only in there for temp amusment. As long as you know what ever you put in there will die, put whatever ya want. Even at whole sale a jardini is a pretty pricey dinner.

Thanks for all the valuable info. I will definately take all of your advice into consideration. Problem is the situatioin has changed...I am currently making moves to acquire a 125g tank for $650.00 (let me know if I'm gettin a good deal). So know I am trying to figure out if I should try and raise a school of babies w/"Tiny" so he'll always be bigger or if I should try and acquire others that are similiar in size which unfortunately would be considerably more expensive.

Again thanks for all your advice!

I bought a 225 w/ stand, lights, and glass tops for 800 so no, bad deal.
