I would suggest some Veijas, Sajicas, Snooks and female festae maybe not all of them but any of those would work fine. I would stay away from carpintis, beani, istlanum and such as those guys like to be dominant and wouldn't play well with the ornatum. I'm not into hybrid so maybe just add females which would submit to the ornatum whereas males will bring competition. Not only that the females should spark his personality into coming out and being social;)

I have always wanted a female festae and am not really interested in breeding them at the moment but I've never had a Festae so that could change but I don't want the Festae and Ornatus breeding but for tankmates I think I would like that. So I think I've made up my mind and will be going with a female festae and see how it goes with the 2 fish and few dithers. Ive spent too much on the Ornatus to try to get another female.

I didn't mean try to breed but that there was a possibility that they may, good luck and post pics:)

Thanks, it will take a while to find one. Rapps only has 1 inch Festae at the moment.

I was so tempted to pick up a couple of those 1 inchers and grow them out. I've always wanted a festae and prefer to grow out my fish from a very small size

I personally ordered from him and was very pleased he is a pleasure to do buisness with. Only vender I know that has large festae

Thanks, and I sent him an e-mail. I will have to think of something other than the festae so I don't end up paying for shipping for just 1 fish but I didn't really see anything in the SA catagory that i liked.

I just thought of another tankmate and I already have the fish. I have a Crenicichla Multispinosa in a 90 gallon tank with a severum, a couple Geo's and those strange Indiian Cichlids that I can never seem to think of the name. Anyway the Pike is doing very well in the 90, is about 7 inches and to be honest I'm scared to move her. I have heard the Multispinosa get HITH very easily. She is just a tag too aggressive for the 90 but in a 125 she may do better. What do you guys think?

125 gallong potential mix:

Male C. Ornatus about 6 inches already have
Female Festae
Female Cren. Multispinosa about 7 inches already have
5 Black Silver Dollars 5 inches Already have
