tankmate

I have tried Flowerhorn with Golden Crossback before. Not much problem if the arowana is same size or bigger. The arowana will chase or nip it once in awhile, but no major harm done. If the flowerhorn is bigger, then most likely will be bullied. Depending whether you treasure the flowerhorn or the red arowana more :)

so it ok to keep a super red aro with a flowerhorn in a 270gal no bullies from the flowerhorn

just make sure your flowerhorn is not 2-3 times the size of your super red aro. It will have it for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Will be one expensive meal :P

yeah ... there will be so much room for them to play cat and mouse. I did not know they sell super red arowanas below 6 inches. You must bear in mind at 5 inches it is still a small juvenile and body resistance wise still weak. Make sure you monitor the water perimeters carefully and install a heater to prevent sudden temperature fluatuations. Young arowanas more prone to getting diseases.

thank mate but do i need any driftwood what kind of substrare sand or gravel and what kind of flowerhorn should i get should i get a pair of flowerhorn instead of one and is the flowerhorn water parmenmater same as the super red

sand or gravel doesn't matter. It depends on how you want to decorate your tank. However not advisable to put driftwood in arowana tank as the arowana might injure itself while playing cat and mouse with your flowerhorn. If your tank is new, I suggest you stabilize the water condition first. Use a few cheap guppies or platies to test the water condition for a few days. What kind of filtration system will you be using? internal or external canister type or sump?

ill be using the fluval fx5 so should i get a pair of flowerhorn so they can fight and ignore the aro and what other tankmate can i do dont want a flowerhorn to kill a 1000 dollar fish when you can get a flowerhorn at a pretty cheap price at juvenile stage
