Jaguars get a up to 2 feet long with the oscar staying at a foot. The jag would kick his as$. Midas is same story as the GT, far too aggressive....

IMO a GT could work if you got one that wasn't to aggresive. But fishaddict is right, don't go with a jag. Oh, and oscars have been reported at 18", although that's uncommon, most adults I've seen are a bit bigger then 1'.

But cichlid34, whatever you get, get it later. Oscars grow pretty fast and if you get one along with another cichlid that's the same size, in a few months the oscar will be bigger then it and will bully it.

Also remember that these fish will grow together and from my experience babies are very fragile and gt's and jd's are very aggressive when young IMO

Yea i know the growth rates of and oscar thats why i think im gonna go with a lil bigger fish. My oscar is ony about 1 1/2 inches so i may go with a 2-3 inch fish and throw my divider in for a few days or until the go in the 55

ive had an oscar kill a red devil , jaguar , red terror , and two RBP. It all depends on your fish. GT's are not aggressive by any means. The oscar would not lose a fight when smaller , due to its bulkiness. A full grown jag vs a oscar is different. Growing up with an oscar though , the oscar will always have the upper hand. My oscar was demented though , he made me bleed all the time cleaning the tank. He killed a 14inch jag , beat the crap out of it then launched it out of the tank. Your best bet will be trail and error bro. Test each fish out individually.

Ill have to find the videos , this was about a year ago. My oscar was insane , me and my buddies use to buy fish and watch him destroy all these "aggressive fish". Aggressive fish all depends on the fish. My oscar had some big teeth and he was relentless. He didnt lip lock , he went for eyes fins and shoving out of the tank. RIP horsedick. lol the name fits him.

i would honestly say to get a severum...they're calm but tough and would go great with an oscar...unless your oscar is really aggressive which im guessing he is because he killed another oscar so id have to say get a midas if you really want to

I have a gold sev in a separate 20 gallon at my fiances house right now that i may add but not for a while cuz hes a lil deformed but he's a bully in her tank

If you have a severum in a 20g, you need to get it a bigger tank IMO, just put it in with your oscar.

Its a grow tank for him we got him when he was the size of a nickel now hes about a half dollar

yea he a mean lil **** but i want him to be bigger b4 he goes in the 55 gallon. My 55 had to be resealed and i did that about a week ago. The oscar and sev will be in it soon along with what ever fish i get later. Then i will set up my 125 after i refurbish it and build a stand for it. I got it a few weeks ago for free. It needs a top lights and stand tho
