So I'm keeping the oscar I got in the 75. I would like to add a tankmate or two for him. I don't believe that there will be aggression issues, because the oscar has pretty bad HITH right now and just kind of swims around and hangs out. He does not show any aggression towards the pacu he is in with right now. He is about 9 inches long right now, so any tankmate would have to grow big enough to compete with him. I can grow it out in my 55, so buying small is not a problem.

a single oscar needs 55 gallons to disipate waste and keep good nitrate levels

so i waould get a convict or firemouth

Are you ditching the pacu? I would say firemouth, con, or if you want to push it a JD.

Why don't you treat it's HITH before getting more fish?

Oscars in 75g don't need tankmates other then a catfish or pleco to clean up after there messy feedings. If it has HITH the don't need to add anything, you already have water quality issues.

i would add anything right now until the HITH is cleared up-that comes from poor water quality or a poor diet. ditch the pacu, do a good 50 percent waterchange every week, add aquarium salt, dont feed him feeders and thats heading in the right direction.
