Adding more fish right now might do more harm to your O than good.
He will propably get stressed out and another chiclid might pick on him(they sens it when a fish is week).Good luck with the HITH

i agree. if i were u i would do these steps before geting another fish

1. get rid of that pacu
2.cure the hith
3. make sure your waters perfect
and 4.if ur up for all the water changes maybe 30% 2 times a week u can get a jd or severum

I will probably end up doing a school of something. Also, just so you guys know I change 5 or 10 gallons a day, and every water change is done by gravel vac, not just siphoning it out. The HITH is clearing up already, even with the 2 pacu in it. The worst spots are healing over, so hopefully he should be better within a month or so.

ease up on the guy, you just inherited these fish in this shape correct? first things first, dont use aquarium salt its too damned expensive, go buy yourself a thing of NON-IODIZED table salt (under a dollar store brand). second start changing 15-20 gallons a day instead of 5-10 and after the pacu leaves you can back it down to 10-15. bump your heat to about 83-84 and dont add any fish till the hith is cured. once the O is in good health and the pacu has a good home i would get 4-6 silver dollars (not red hook) there fast enough to avoid damage from the O and form a nice shoal. just make sure you are changing enough water to keep your nitrates under 20 ppm.

Sounds good. I think I am gonna fab something up to do better water changes this weekend. I will do 5 gallons with the gravel vac, then 10 with a siphon or something. Also should be getting a penguin 330 for additional filtration this weekend.
