That tank looks great. The tank is for my mom and she said she prefers yellow fish. Those lemon tetras would be PERFECT. The apistos are more or less what I want. How does this stock sound?

Shoal of lemon tetras.
Pair of apistos
4-6 Discus
1 Bristle Nose Pleco
you could put more discus than that. i always have corey cats in my tanks. they do a real good job of cleaning up. also dont worry about temperature problems with corey's and tetras. my tank is running most of the time at 88 degrees and they are just fine.

Awesome. I think I have finally decided on the final stock!!:nilly::headbang2

go with at least 6 discus. they are very social fish and do not do well in small numbers unless they are a mated pair. your list sounds good. I would do at least 15 lemons. not the best looking tetra at the lfs, but once in your tank they become quite beautiful. your mom will be happy.

im pretty sure ive seen you on simply discus to right?

Yeh. Looks pretty much perfect. Just waiting on tank to finish cycling and the drift wood and im ready for the fish.

I have used Harliquin Rasboras on many occasions with Discus they are alittle smoother in their movements IMO. They look great and a perfict contrast too. Rams are also perfect for a Discus tank water perams and temp is identical. This combination was shown to me by Mathius at Discus Maddness.

Thanks aquanero. They look pretty cool too.

One other suggestion if your doing a low tech planted. Float some Water Sprite, it a nitrate sponge and they love the subdued lighting that filters through.

It's hit or miss with clown loaches and discus. Sometimes the loaches leave them alone and some don't. In the past I've had clown loaches, neon/cardinal tetras and bristle nose plecos that never bothered my discus..........

Some roselines would be awesome too, puntius denisonii. Great looking fish if you want something slightly larger than your average tetra. Here's one of mine. I have a school of 7 with my wild discus
