Just wondering what you keep with them and what sized tank? thanks

I've read they are the least likely to be overly aggressive out of the parachromis genuis. Ill have a spare 75gal soon and im awaiting a new tank not sure what size but its going to be a 8ft tank by the looks of it. I was either thinking keeping a pair in the 75gallon or just putting them out in the big tank with others.

I was told to stay away from larger fish like jaguars and the red devil/midas/trimac group. Any reasons why? Is this true?

In a big community tank, I've had them with other Parachromis (mota, freddy, jaguar), Amphilophus, Paratheraps, and Vieja. IME, they are not overly aggressive but could hold their own.

In a 75 g tank, I would just do a pair. Please make sure to have a divider ready just in case you notice aggression specially after breeding.

How big was your community tank? I love the look of a nice big community but sometimes it takes alot of swapping of fish to get there. Ever keep catfish or plecos in that community you had? Did you use any dither fish?

360 g tank. I had silver dollars with them for a long time but took them out because of nipping issues.

LOISELLE'S CICHLID possible tank mates- Gt, chocolate, JD, Oscar????

In a very large tank say 200+. I had aggression issues w/ loisellei in a 150g and tankmates. If I were to get them again, I would only do a pair in a 150g w/ no other cichlids.

I agree with Tolletcar, I consider a 75 to be no more than a grow out tank until a pair hit maybe 7 inches, then should be moved to a much larger tank, a 200 gal or under is just large enough for a pair with no other cichlids. A tank larger than 200 you may have the realistic option of a couple more depending on alpha status.
