I think it’s all about tank space and the individual fish, it’s eventual size and power nothing much will be able to withstand an attack if it decides it wants to. One of the most intelligent fish I’ve ever owned wish I never sold mine. Once mine hit 12” I couldn’t keep anything in a 500gallon with him the bigger he got the angrier he got or more predatory.

Also mine loved prawns whole shell head and all I bought the bait prawns he used to save the head for last then munch on it.
