Tankmates or not????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is bad overcrowding but to continue this thread. The keywords above are female jags. I wouldn't keep anything in a 120 with a full grown male jag.

I wonder where aquamojo is with the shoehorn and crisco:ROFL:

Probably on another forum playing god.

Jag is one of the most unpredictable CA cichlid IME. For instance my 13" male jag will not tolerate oscars, but will touch or even eat a 2" electric yellow african cichlid.
And it is living with a 8" fredrichthalii and 6" red tiger mota and tons of other fish which never make sense, how it tolerates them?
The tank is 6' and 150gallons.

The oscar might have too much of the same body shape or were the others raised with the jag? Anyways you are right, they can be unpredicatable but in large enough tanks some meanies can be cohabed.

I mean my jag will "not" touch or even eat a 2" african cichlid !!! But would relentlessly shred a 11" and 12" tiger oscars to death (which was traded-in 3 months ago).

Rallysman has a great Jag with a great Oscar, and he has no problems in a 265.

"Great" is not the word for Rallysman jag. It is an exceptional jag, and #1 jag I've seen to this day!!!

Now that was an unprovoked attack. I've done nothing but be a team player here. And from Pennsylvania even....

If the fish that were ultimately going to be in the tank all started off at the same size, a Managuense would tolerate tankmates...for the most part. The downside is that you never would know for sure if or when they would "go off".
