Just buy RO/DI water from a grocery store kiosk. It costs about 25 cents a gallon and has ALL the bad stuff removed. It's already ready already.

I would need 30 gallons a week for my 125.... It's not feasible when compared to the cost of stress coat. That's $7.50/week. Compare that to $5.29/month.

how much stress coat per 1000 gallons ???

Use up to 2 teaspoons per 10 gallons of water, so 1000 gallons = 4.16 cups.

1 Gallon = $26.99, which will treat about 4,000 gallons.

Beckett's removes chlorine & chloramine, some heavy metals, is pH buffered and has a stress coat...1920g treatment for $5.95 ($0.003/g). I also age/aerate replacement water.

You can use Sodium Thiosulfate (the cheapest way to go) (main ingredient in chlorine/chloramine removers) but doesn't get rid of the ammonia aftermath.

I chose Novaqua for the sole reason that its the cheapest and gets the job done.

I use API tap water conditioner.
Its relatively inexpensive and has never failed me. it also goes a pretty long way.
