What do you guys suggest for water for freshwater tanks. I myself live in the city so I do not have a well. I can get well water at my fish store though. I use tap water for all my water changes dosed with a dechlorinator.

What do you guys do?

Depends on the fish in the tank. My 125 has Oscars, severums, bala sharks, flagtail, and endli bichir and I use tap in it. My 90 has angels, calvus, plecos, and discus and I use RO

I use tap (filtered through 3 stages) even for my saltwater reef.

The freshwater fish use to get the waste RO but I don't make RO so they get tap water treated with dechlorinator.

If the fish are over $100+ each I'd probably go with RO.

I am using tap but soon going to do RO water.

Tap

RO water straight is not good for fish, the lack of minerals can cause osmotic stress on most fish, and is especially bad for rift lake and any alkaline water fish. Even most discus keepers mix RO with tap or well water to provide some minerals.
