Tarantula beginner - what should I get?

The little info I found on the Web says that you need to look at the molt in order to sex these. Any input on that? Hopefully I lucked out and got a female.

Sweet, nice pink toe. Hope you got a female too. Why don't you make your own screen top to keep her in? Oh get some pics of feeding time :D

Thanks. There is a screen top covering the whole top, and plastic tank top on top of that (except where the heat lamp is) to try and keep in humidity. The screen top just doesn't fit very well, so I need to make a better one. I used some shims and weight from rocks to take out the gaps between the screen and tank top. I'll take some pics/video of feeding hopefully soon.

I like mine. Very laid back compared to my curly hair T. Just an fyi so you dont get all worried like i did, mine will stop eating for weeks when its going to molt. My curly hair T does too of course but doesnt go nearly as long without food. Once i see the pink toe start webbing everything i know its going to stop eating for a while.
Looking forward to more pics =)

How often do they molt?

This is going to sound pathetic but i have no concept of time so i cant really say lol..every other month maybe..?..I kept track the first year but im not sure where the calendar i used is right off hand..Seems like i get in a few good weeks of feeding then he molts again( i have no idea if its a 'he' but thats just what i say)

That's way more often than I thought. How soon after you got yours did it make a web?

I actually got mine as a tiny baby. So small it was eating fruit flies so its hard to say at the size yours is at when itll make one but id say if it starts eating well it wont be long. Mine basically makes a web, molts, then takes it apart. Def. doesnt put on as much size as my curly hair with each molt though..
