i'd suggest you research the HELL out of these, before you make any decisions. these are a terrible first T because of how aggressive they are and because their bites absolutely suck and can have lasting effects...can't kill you..but it can make you suffer for a week or two. of course..babies are basically nothing and it would be at least 3 years before they reach adult size..but yeah..

Bummer...

Is a Mexican Fire Leg a good first T? They are very pretty...

very nice!

yes the flame knee is a better choice over an OBT, although they do kick hairs.

to be completely honest, i would get a Pink Toe, or a red phase rose hair..or just a normal rose hair. they are cheap and they usually have a good disposition. they are not notorious for hair kicking even though they are new world tarantulas. just about everyone started out with a rosie. pink toes are more skittish but almost never bite. i have a small 3" pink toe i can sell you for cheap once i get some heat packs in..just let me know.

not a large one..unless you have a birdeater. my female baboon..who is pushing 5" is in a 190q deli cup which is i think 9"x6" she'll stay in there until the day she dies. the common tank size for most tarantulas range from 2 gallon to 10 gallons. for the larger species 20-30 gallons would work.

Eh I was considering using a 7x6...watcha think? Could I put anything in there? (I have 4 of those glass tanks behind my bettas)

you can put smaller species of tarantula in something of that size. maybe a rose hair, or a costa rican zebra. start of with juveniles and they will grow into their surroundings within a few years.
