anyone here ever worked with an Avicularia versicolor? Are they handleable? easy to take care of? Humidity? temps? just basic info.

Ehhh. Versicolor are pretty jumpy.
Avic. Avicularia is a bit more handle-able.
Not to say you can't handle Versicolor, just be careful because they are FAST.
I don't recommend handling T's though.. Think of it more as a flower that moves and eats bugs.
Pretty easy to take care of.
Temps of 75F-80F are what they like DO NOT USE AN UNDER TANK HEATER OR HEAT LIGHT. It's best to have the ambient temp of the room in the high 70's.
80-90% humidity but the substrate should not be "swampy" also provide a small water dish for specimens over 2''. Don't put a sponge in the water dish as it will attract nasty bacteria.
A 5-10 gallon tank on it's will make a great enclosure for an adult Versicolor.

theyre handleable,just jumpy.
humidity should be pretty high,say 80s% and temperature should be like tropical as well.

I dont think the sudden death thing is with the versicolor though,I could be wrong,usually its juvis and babies that die so most ppl try and get ones that are not so small to start.Ive had a pink toe for over five years but it wasn't tiny either when I got it.Good luck with it if you get it.
