may i ask what you do with a tarantula? a friend of mine, her brother has a pinky toed spider, he just leaves it in the tank, not a whole lot of use from a pet, atleast fish you can watch.

i am not trying to knock on tarantula owners, i am just wondering if some people hold them or something....

The T's I have cannot be handled, but I enjoy watching them create tunnels and passage ways. I like watching them hunt/ ambush, I like their "feeding dances", I like when they stand in their threatening postures when they are:swear::mad:. And they come in a ton of different colors!!!!!!!

I guess you either like them or you don't.

That is smart on your part. I can't handle most of mine either. Just my orange baboon and my versicolor. I won't hold any of my pokies or most other old world t's just for the fact that they scare the hell out of me and can move a lot faster than me. The medically significant venom doesn't help matters either. But there are a few people who handle them. Have you seen this guys site? I'll just say he has more "mojo" than me. Check it out (you can see bite marks in some of the pics).

I don't why people risk it with the old worlders or any of the aggressive T"s:screwy: I have read some pretty scary accounts of people getting bit by pokies and I for one don't want to go through that. But maybe this guy is like the "horse whisperer" just with Ts and Hots.:D

I didn't even notice it the first time but he has his kid in some of the pics, hopefully he doesn't let the child hold the animals as well.:nilly:

I seen that... I don't know what was going on. But he has an impressive collection though. Some of those ornamentals are huge. And I can't beleive he was holding a cobalt blue. I don't mean becuase of the venom, but the temper. I have never gotten closer than 6" away from one of those without it turning over on its back and dripping venom of its fangs.

Great pics, you are making me feel nostalgic. I used to nine, my favourite was my colbalt blue, A really beautiful animal, I always felt a little nervous when doing anything in her tank. I still have two, a Goliath and Salman pink bird eater.

I will dig the camera out.
