yay, tarantulas! they are among the coolest low matinence pets of all. if you want some real, first hand info and more pictures than you can count, arachnoboards.com is an awesome place to look. i myself have two Ts (a purple pinktoe and a haitian brown) and they're awesome :thumbsup:.
 
:cool: I don't known which species is the best for beginners, but I've always considered a Mexican Red-Knee Tarantula a must-have spider for a pet. :shark:
 
yeah, only downside to a B. smithi is the pricetag ;)

in my opinion, most "beginners" are, dare i say it, a little pet rock-ish. hand me a Haplopelma anyday :evil_lol:.
